Help needed for Keystone Games   Message List

We need volunteers to help with the set up and running of the Keystone Games.
Although the Harrisburg Division is not officially associated with this
tournament, it is in our backyard so it would be great if we could help it run
smoothly.

This is what we need and when:

Friday July 25th - 5pm - to help do major set up - laying floors (snap together
tiles)

Saturday July 26th - 8am - help set up any last minute things
at end of night, quick check before closing up

Sunday July 27th - 8am - to help set up any last minute things
5pm or after - tear down and clean up (take up
floor, pack all scoring and strip equipment)

During the Saturday and Sunday, we will also need runners who can take info back
and forth from the strip to the bout table. Volunteers to time bouts or do
writing for refs will be very appreciated by some refs. If you aren't fencing
and can help out a ref, please offer. It will make everything go quicker.

At registrations times, especially the bigger events, I may need another set a
hands/eyes at the registration table.

Finally we need a few people who are willing over the course of both days to
stand near the entrance to the fencing area and greet people. Direct fencers to
the registration table, answer general questions from non fencing people who
wonder in, and basically show that we are open to spectators.

If you are available, please let me know what days/times and if there is a
particular job you want to do or if you want to help but cannot do a specific
thing (for instance, I know a 16 yr old volunteer (conscript) who cannot lift
anything heavy with her right arm but I can find other jobs for her.

The Keystones are a good showcase for the people of the Harrisburg Division. It
is true that they are not a division touranment. The games are also not
authorized nor sanctioned by the Harrisburg Chair and the division is not
getting any money out of it. But the fencers who come are not going care whether
it is an official division event. They will just know it is in our division's
territory. So it would be great if we could all help run a nice tournament and
maybe make some new friends for our division (and win back some old ones).

Thanks for any help you can give.
