Subject: Fencers Ray Gordon & Dan Collins to go for Guinness
Record April 21-22, 2007
Hello-
My sparring partner, Dan Collins and I will be going for the
Guinness Record in Fencing from Saturday, April 21 through Sunday April
22. Our goal is 24-hours of continuous fencing in accordance with the
USFA and Guinness requirements for bouts and breaks.
Please come and cheer us on to victory!
During this 24-hour event we will need all sorts of support
including:
witnesses
stewards
referees
medical personnel
in four-hour shifts. Please note that witnesses must be at
least 18 years of age and may not be related to either of the
contestants. We are attempting to find out whether stewards and referees
can be minors. (Most of the members of our fencing club are minors and
may be ineligible to provide support at this event.)
We've been working with the folks over at Brick Bodies for the
past 13 months. We are very grateful for their time and guidance to
ensure that our effort will be a success.
We will also be accepting contributions to help defray some of
the costs of training and equipment.
If you are interested helping us out or just want to be there on
Sunday morning to encourage us in the darkest hours, please RSVP so that
I can place your name on the official event e-mailing list which will
keep you informed as we move closer to the date.
Thanks.
Ray Gordon
