Re: January 28th @ CFC in Baltimore

Z,

First, congratulations to all fencers - Second, good job fencing with
integrity and good clean form. The goal in future will be to retain
form with more control over the outcome. Third, this was the largest
division level letter event that I have ever seen - And wow, what an
experience for those first-timers.

More, I really liked Rob's (AAR) after action report, though unsigned.
He makes a very good observation, that there was represented an
incredibly broad range of fencing ability. That is not the intention
of restricted entry events. They are supposed to represent a
relatively level field (for the top end). There was some extremely
strong talent present, for this level event and some that were sadly
very weak (disorganized). The final placement is not a measure of
fundamental fencing ability.

One last note, fencers are permitted to vocalize and celebrate. If
this visibly shakes you, it can be used by your opponent to undermine
you psychologically.

Cheers! ~CLF
