Good news from the "new" Mid-Atlantic Section website:
http://www.midatlanticfencing.com/
"""
The Senior Sectional Championships (Open) will be held May 6 and May 7.
Hosted by the Philadelphia Division, they will be held at Swarthmore College.
There is a major change this year that both events are now "OPEN" events. This
means that there is no "qualifying event" held at the division level in order
to compete in either sectional championship.
Any fencer who is a member of a division within the Mid-Atlantic Section may
enter the events provided they meet the age restrictions. Final information for
both events should be completed within the month and that information will be
sent to divisions and clubs and also posted on this Web site.
Each host division will also have information posted on their individual Web
sites and both are planning to do "online registration" as well as accept
mail-in registrations.
Deadline for entries will most likely be 30 days prior to each event to allow
the host division time to adjust for the size of the competition.
Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the host division and
Mid-Atlantic Section, however the fencer will be required to pay a *severe*
penalty fee.
