The Virginia Kick-Off Open

This is the season-opening tournament for our neighboring Virginia
division, and one of their most popular. It is expected that there
will be over 70 entries in each foil and epee, with a wide variety of
experience levels, from beginner to advanced. Last year BFC had 2
entries in foil and 7 entries in epee. We would like to eclipse those
numbers this year. BFC plans to have coaches at this tournament
volunteering their time to assist junior and less experienced fencers.

Schedule

Foil will be Saturday, September 17 - registration closes at 9am.
Epee will be Sunday, September 18 - registration closes at 9am.

Registration

Registration is $25 per event, cash or check. Make checks payable
to "Virginia Division USFA."

Venue

Wakefield School, 4439 Old Tavern Road, The Plains, VA 20198

Driving Directions from Baltimore (95 miles) : I-95 South to I-495
West (Capitol Beltway towards Silver Spring) to I-66 West (towards
Manassas). Take exit # 31 to VA-245 The Plains (right on Old Tavern
Road). End at 4439 Old Tavern Road.

Carpooling

Carpooling among team members is strongly encouraged. If you can
offer a ride, or if you need a ride, please send an e-mail to this
group, baltimorefc@yahoogroups.com.

Equipment Checklist

1. mask, glove, jacket, underarm protector, knickers, long socks,
shoes
2. USFA membership card for the current year
3. 2 (or more) electric weapons, 2 (or more) body cords in good
working order
4. water bottle, bag lunch, snacks, change of clothes, small towel
5. $25 entry fee, extra money for concessions
