I was one of 13 fencers competing in the open foil on Sunday June 19th
at the Baltimore Fencing Center- this was a group of high rated
fencers, with over half with either a B (3) or a C (4). There was
only one other U. Since there were so few in the competition, we did
two pools, so I had 12 bouts before the DE. Even though I did not win
any bouts, I felt that I did ok, considering the level of the
competition. It felt good to get touches against fencers rated
considerably higher. We also double-stripped each pool, so there was
not much time for resting between bouts! Conditioning, as well as
high-level competition for only $10. Another chance to improve.
