update: Helpfield rejects fencing   Message List

Z fencing club of Lancaster,

Jeanne was un-able to negotiate with the (available) high school
administration. As things stand now we are permanently out of
Hempfield. There is no practice tonight. We will not be able to
process paperwork till August and we will be charged a $20/Hour
rental fee. This is not acceptable considering our current membership
rates and not-for-profit status. Unless there is going to be some
intervention, that is unforeseen at this time, we are forced to
abandon the Hempfield practice site and practice is canceled until we
can secure a new site.

It is important that all active fencers join the Yahoo Group and
maintain current contact information on the Contact Database. We are
currently looking for a new site. Postings on the Message board are
the most efficient way of communicating. Jeanne will not be able to
give every body a personal phone call every time there is an update,
because things are going to be changing fast over the next few weeks
(and She does not have everybody numbers). If you know someone in the
club who is not on the Members list, please contact them with this
message and help get them on the Group.

Please, be on the lookout for a new place for us to fence. You know
our requirements. The size minimum is about a quarter basketball
court or a half tennis court. We need a roof, good lighting, limited
pedestrian access and a hard (not concrete) surface. Nice features
would be, storage, bathrooms, parking, zero rental and access during
our regular times Tuesday - Thursday 6 - 9 pm, but these are
sacrificial. Prime candidates are organizations with privet property
like Churches and Church Schools. Other good candidates are Athletic
organizations like Dance Schools, Marshal-Arts Schools; we can fence
on Ratchet Ball courts in a Health Club. We can not tolerate much in
the way of a rental with out having to triple our membership and
fees. We do have something to offer any organization. That is, a
already well developed Fencing Program. We may be able to offer
discounted or free club membership to organization members in
exchange for access to their facility. We are a non-profit and have a
Tax Code. Membership fees and other donations to our club are tax
deductible.

Question and comments can, of course be posted on the message board
for everybody by replying to this message. I can be reached
personally, clfrench@... or call 717 290-7379 to get me at home
or 717 368-5980 for my cell by day. I can take small groups at my
biulding. If you have any questions for Jeanne, she is at 717 397-
0815 also try 717 569-2424. I have a new email for Jeanne, but I
don't have it with me, so ... hold a sec, chressler@...

Cheers!
CLF
