On Saturday, OSU faced 8 other colleges at home: Cleveland State,
Oberlin, Bowling Green, Michigan, Detroit, Purdue, Case Western, and
Chicago.
I fenced against everyone but Detriot and Cleveland State. Overall
I went 12-4 for the day, which averages to a .75 win to loss ratio
(which is the exact same as my performance at Notre Dame, 15-5). So
that brings my total ratio to 27-9, which is also .75 win to loss.
My only losses of the day was one bout to Michigan (avenging two
other defeats from last weekend), two to Purdue, and one to Case
Western. I had a cheering section show up for me as well. A lot of
the guys from my floor showed up with a big "GO ERIC!" sign that
they held. It was a good morale booster for the day.
I am satisfied with my .75 performance, but my coach knows that I
screwed up a lot and should have done much better, (he knows I could
have gone 16-0), but didn't push the issue because he realized that
it was only my second time at an event like this.
I hope you are all practicing hard for competitions this season. I
will be back to practice for a week at the end of March.
