On Saturday, Dec. 18th, I competed in the White Christmas Open Foil
competition at Black Diamond (Harrisburg)- a total of 24, with 4
pools. I went 2-3 in my pool, losing one of my bouts 4-5. Seeded 12th
after pool. Won my first DE (15-10) against an E-rated opponent, then
lost to Shaner, an E-rated lefty from Black Diamond. He then lost to
Claudia, in a close bout. Patrick Ellison did very well, and either
came in first or second place. I didn't stay for the final bout, but
he faced either Claudia or the person who may have beaten her in the
semi-final. Several fencers from Baltimore, Virginia, and other parts
of PA, such as Ligonier and Wilkes-Barre, including Peter Folgner.
Had some problems with my foils, so now I need to work on replacing
springs and wires!
