Hello Laurel !

I come just back from my first CAt try and there are lots of questions.

Cookie was free, lYdi too, they stand at the hay-gate. I come in by the watergate,70 m higher.
I let them see my pad and just waited.
Lydi came to join me, no CT

Cookie come too, slowly, when I sam her unsure, I turned, hiding the pad with my body, counting till 12 or 20 and then presented the pad again.

Lydi stayed firmly at my side.
Cookie came nearer , and each attempt, I turned away from her.
We did this for about 5 times.
In Lydis shadow she finally came so close, that she touched the pad.

I let her touch it, but turned calmly away.
She stayed right at my shoulder trying to get the pad.

All this time, myself was happy, relaxed posture, great smile -it is hot, the sun is shining- and the pad tangled around my knee.

Cookie lowered her head.

Finally she came so near, that she could reach in the T-pouch, but she did not. she continued to sniff the pad.

Turning my back several times, I finally met it over my head. Cookie looked, not worried, lather curious and finally sticked her head under it, towards my face.

I let the pad glide down my back, like a torero I turned, so that it was in front of me and out of her side.

We did this still twice and I finished with the exercice.

I took the pad out of the paddock, she followed him till the gate, where she could see him on the ground at the other side.

After this we did some CT work and a funny thing happened. Each time I met my hand anywhere on her spine she lowered her head and hold it down some seconds.
Following Alex's device, I CT before she came up, but I think it was nearly 5 seconds.

She seemed so cool today,
Once, I worked a little bit with Lydi she snaked her head to bite her in the belly.
I cried : Cookie, she jumpd back, but returned quickly to join us

And oh wonder from this moment on, she had the envie to bite Lydi, I saw her mouth/head near Lydis belly and than : she turned it away!!!
Like in the chapter "you cant make me eat this !
So naturally I gave CT and praise

So my questions : what shall I do, when she comes so near?
how much time will you let her touch the pad?
When she mets my face under the pad, how can I go away without frustrating her ? And in which way?

And not to bite Lydi, is this perhaps a consequence of CAT training ??? or
did she learn to get a click I have to do nice faces ???

she is so confident and at ease with me and on the other hand, some small events can blow this up

Doris.

I would agree Laurel. Take the pad away at a distance. The more times you can come towards her the better. But, if she is soliciting, time to switch to C/T...
