John,
My program, Washington-Lee HS Crew, is connected to our school. As part of
W-L HS we are required to follow the standards for VHSL(Virginia High School
League). VHSL states all althletes must be passing 5 out of 7 classes as of
the 2nd Quarter to participate in a spring sport. This is pretty standard
for all VA Schools. You may want to look at your local area for similar
standards to go by. If you base them on current standards it will leave
little room to complain or dispute how you came up with them.
