so, somewhat still decided on the cart and costume issues? that's
ok . . . it would help to hear from some serious cart people. i know
that accidents do happen sometimes, but i think the BOD was just
trying to get away from more possible accidents by taking it out of
the high point. also at the time when cart was taken away everyone
still had that bad memories of the accident at the international
fresh in their minds.
i know we still need to get the whole story on the
english/western switch . . . jenna told me that they tried to move
all of english flat before western (like they do in other breeds i
hear) but there were some issues with people who only do halter and
western having to wait through english. i think it's a good idea to
move the english before western . . . then we would have our ponies
fresher and such . . . but still i'm sure some people won't like the
idea of having to wait for their western classes. it's hard to make
everyone happy . . . so you just have to try and please the
majority.
my fundraiser idea for the jackpot was like having a leonard
lewis futurity open to all aged horses (it would be like a massive
sr. pleasure class) i think having it as a western pleasure calss
would be best since there are more entries in western pleasure than
in english pleasure, usually. the entry fee for the class would be
more than for a normal class . . . we could discuss that. then, the
winnings would be divided to the top few placings and the rest would
go back to the youth club fund. what do you think? i could try to
get company sponsors to add money, plus our entry fees would make
the pot bigger. let me know what you guys think.
