We didn't have very many people make it to the meeting at the sale. There's no good way to announce it, no good place to have it, and no time that can work for everyone. It's always a really hard meeting to do. Basically we just discussed a few things at the meeting and I let the 7 or 8 people that were there know about what's been going on lately.
We spoke about the art contest at the International.
I let them know about a pizza and movie party at the convention that we will be having next year. We discussed it at this year's convention and we've lately been getting that all organized so that it will appear on the convention schedule in the magazine. We will probably have the banquet room for this, divided into three spaces- one in the middle with tables, all the food. One movie room for little kids and one movie room for the older kids.
I think that was just about it.
The sale was very successful for the YAB though. Mr. Patterson allowed us to sell the left over backpacks (the ones he gave away at the International) and we were able to sell all of them with the help of the auctioneers. Of the proceeds, some will be going to Youth Advisory Board and some will be going to the youth scholarship fund. We manned the youth booth all weekend and sold quite a bit of our stuff- the can coozies, window clings, and the backpacks. I think our booth was more successful than it ever has been because we had a great location.
