The sale was a lot of fun. We didn't buy any horses but we brought 3 home for other people.
From the Youth Board standpoint, the Sale was very good. We didn't have a meeting because we didn't even want to try to get them to announce things for us after they announced our advertisement about selling decals ONCE during the whole first day of the sale and never after that.
We did sell quite a few decals, I'm not sure exactly if we have covered our expenses yet. If you want to buy some decals, you can see the information on the web site. http://geocities.com/poacyouth
Also, Mr. Chuck Patterson of Missouri was kind enough to donate an electric scooter to the YAB, and we auctioned it Saturday morning, earning a profit of $450, the biggest amount of money made so far in a YAB fundraiser.
At the BoD meeting, 1 of our 3 proposals was accepted. (We submitted the age division game hi-pt proposal, the international team tournament proposal, and a handicap rider medallion proposal.) The handicap rider proposal was passed, but some of the directors felt that the Youth needed to write and approve bylaws before more proposals are passed. (I have been working on some bylaws. We also have access to the club's lawyer who has offered to volunteer his time.)
Unfortunately, that means that the game high-point awards won't be in effect until 2007 year end awards, and the team tournament, if passed, probably won't occur until 2008. Assuming that our bylaws are approved at the convention. Why the absence of approved bylaws is suddenly a big issue, I can't explain because I don't understand either.
