okay ease up on frashad,
you can never get good at Aikido by watching videos however you can get the
form.
Mustard sensei talks about kata and waza, if you would ever heard him you would
understand it better.
basically kata is the form and any generic black belt can do that, and that
can be learned mostly from watching, however to get the power you need to
feel it and that is Waza.

Well I think videos are really good for learning because it's done
right and you can watching it again and again and it's always done the
exact same way to learn form consistently, to quote Farshad...
"i was learning alot just by watching chida sensei dose the technices
on some body..."
So in turn the videos should be able to teach us alot about technique
right? and that's just what you guys are saying right? Oh but wait,
when I said I might as well get a video since I was told it's part of
a Sensei's perrogative to not help juniors, many of you said that you
can't learn from videos. In fact Farshad also said in the very same
post...
"in my idea aikido is a art that you would never ever learn it by
watching a vedio or reading it one the book.
its a martial art that you have to learn it through your body."
so wait wait, I'm confused.. you can learn "alot just by watching" but
you can "never ever learn it by watching". whoa I'm gonna need to
think about this one, and possibly ask for a refund for the money I
paid for my Yoshinkan Tapes and my copy of Total Aikido. .. or the
Seminar, whichever you guys think is the one that I truely couldn't
have learned from.
