Re: YAMBA Suggestions

Jack,

If you don't mind driving a bit, you could also try McKeldin area of Patapsco in
Marriottsville MD. It's just south of Carroll County. The trails are smooth and
fast and longer than those at Codorus. Pretty much all singletrack and no grassy
areas for ticks either. It's got some good climbs as well as a section of flat
near the river. Avalon (Patapsco) is incredible but much further south and also
gets super busy on the weekends.

As a newbie to riding in the area and the YAMBA, I was looking for any
riding suggestions anyone may have to offer.  So far I've ridden at Rocky Ridge,
Lake Redman, Gambrill and Codorus.  I like a little from each of them, but sad
to say Codorus is my favorite.  This is my first year on a single speed and
Codorus's trails are nice packed dirt with minimal rocks and manageable
inclines.  The downfall though is the trails are extremely short and I can't
leave there with no less than two ticks on me somewhere.  Are there any other
locations with terrain similar to Codorus? I'd like to try to train myself to be
able to climb and rider more efficient at the other locations.
