I haven't ridden it yet, so I don't know how tight the turns are, but I've
heard similar comments about the re-routes on the goat trail at the lakes.
Some of these have very tights switchbacks on them. I always attributed it
to the fact that walking (which is how the trails are laid out) is different
than riding a trail and what might not seem so bad while walking is more
difficult when you're on a bike. (Either that or the person laying out the
trail had a couple beers beforehand :-). I found some of the tight
switchbacks on the goat trail to be challenging (and still do) but I enjoy
them.

I just rode the new trail that you guys cut yesterday. It was a blast doing the switchbacks. Great job. That one switchback is tight - it gave my 6'6" body...

I'll have to agree with Phil - the one is very tight, I rode it yesterday and liked the work we did, turned out well and the trail already showed lots of use! ...
An ammendment to my original message: Today I climbed the new trail (yesterday was DH). Again, I was impressed with the switchbacks - climbing those two left...
Has anyone else had an opportunity to ride this new section of trail yet? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated-Thanks! I'm hoping to make the Wedneday...

I wasn't there to help out so I really don't think I have much room to say much, but......................it is *kinda* tight in a few sections. Personally- I...
Sorry fellas for my inexperience on the trail layout. At first look it seemed to flow fairly well, but it doesn't make a lick of difference until you get on a...

After working with IMBA last year, I think we realized that the switchback's on the goat trail were a little tight. I don't recall the numbers, but there is a...
I've not ridden the new trail at RR, maybe tonight. I think the point Hank was trying to make (definitely not to chastize the volunteers) is that all of the...
If we are talking about the new section of trail 1 at redman, I love it. I have ridden it both ways, and its fun for both, and a challenge for both. Bravo!...
I'm a newbie too and rode the trail last night. The one left harder gave me some problem, namely falling down, but we were going up them. I think coming down...
I started talking about this trail because I like it. The switchbacks are fun and two of them are challenging (especially for a guy my size). As far as the...
I'm another of those "haven't ridden it yet" commentators, but this seems to be morphing into more of a philosphical discussion about trail building in general...
--If you can't handle the trail, or don't like it, either don't ride it, or go to road riding (jab intended). It is mtn. biking, and it is "Rocky" Ridge. This...
I would agree with the difficulty markings..it would be a great asset for a noob! I was going to make a posting on your opinions on great starter trails...

First off, everyone who hasn't ridden the trail should. Secondly, I don't believe that the trail is that difficult. It is just different and fun. I have not...
Go ride the trail, then make an assessment. Otherwise, the abstract talk of trail building etiquette and such is moot. Hey Phil; I'm in total agreement with...
Hank, I hear you. My comments were not directed toward you since you had obviously been to the trail. I kept reading "I have not ridden the trail but..."...
Now I have ridden the trail..can I comment?? The trail was fun and challenging. The switch backs are difficult, but not a safety issue. One does need to pay...
Absolutely no intention of dissing you Nick. Indeed, I'm grateful for your enthusiasm and involvement. You walked into the process pretty much cold(were you...
