Tree Removal at Rocky Ridge
Approximately 40 acres of trees have been damaged at Rocky Ridge due to cankerworms and gypsy moths. I'm sure many of you are aware of the ongoing spraying at the park, trying to avoid further damage. There are large areas of dead and dying trees, especially near trail 4. This includes the slow gradual climb up after the railroad tie steps around to the back parking lot. The damaged and dead trees are to be removed.
The blue marks are confusing as seemingly healthy trees are marked with blue lines. Opposite to previous tree removal, the large trees with the blue marks are to be left, not removed. The 3 blue round marks indicate the boundary of the damaged area (near private property). Closer to the back of the park on trail 4, you can see the areas of trees that are damaged.
