Yili is a composite martial art, systematically teaching Baixing Quan (a Shaolin derived style), Xingyiquan, Taijiquan, Baguazhang in progressive stages, then finding the common traits of these systems blending their methods into a cohesive whole through insightful, rigorous training.

The Primary Principle of Yiliquan, a martial arts system founded by Sifu Phillip 'Pete' Starr, is to find and maintain one's center.
Sifu Starr is the author of "The Making of a Butterfly - Traditional Martial Arts as Taught by Master W.C. Chen", "Martial Mechanics", "Martial Maneuvers", "Hidden Hands" - all published by Blue Snake Books (North Atlantic Books). Several more books currently in production!
