This site is an easily accessible outreach and resource for the growing community of
Yiliquan practitioners.
Yili is a composite martial art, systematically teaching Baixing Quan (a Shaolin derived style), Xing Yi Quan, Tai Ji Quan, and Ba Gua Zhang in progressive stages, then finding what the systems have in common and blending their methods into a cohesive whole through insightful, rigorous training.
The Primary Principle of
Yiliquan , a martial arts system founded by Sifu Phillip 'Pete' Starr, is to find and maintain one's center.
Sifu Starr is the author of "
The Making of a Butterfly - Traditional Martial Arts as Taught by Master W.C. Chen ", and "
Martial Mechanics ", both published by Blue Snake Books (
North Atlantic Books ).
For autographed copies of these books, please contact Sifu Starr here, or email him at pdstarr@cox.net .
Members, please add related events to the CALENDAR, related Webpages to the LINKS section, and Pictures of yourselves in PHOTOS. For info regarding Yili's principles and history, see the FILES page.
