I agree for the price they charge there should be an additional bottle holder
option. This would be a great addition for a size 48 Y-foil since it has no
bottle holder option. Additionally for the price it better be a sweet thing in
comfort for your bottom.

i've seen that saddle, it's cool, but only holds one bottle.
i did find a way to keep the bottles from ejecting. a tri guy came into the
bike shop i work at to get one of his bikes worked on. he's using a saddle
mounted cage also (beaker concepts hydrotail), with profile design cages. what
he's done was use hair ties he "borrowed" from his wife and looped them onto the
cage. other end gets looped over the bottle nozzle. i had a similar idea, but
never got around to trying it out. well,i finally did, and i went a whole ride
without dropping a bottle. it's a little inconvienent to have to reach back and
unloop the bottle, but it's better than having to turn around to fetch a bottle.

I use the profile aero bottle between the legs and a polar shoved into my jersey
center pocket, but I want to get a raceback and ditch the polar.

the profile design system i had was the one that clamps onto the rear of the
saddle rails. mine snapped with two full 24oz bottles attached at the thinnest
part of the system (not the bottle cage themselves)between the clamping device
and the angle joint.
i'm looking to try and save me some serious mula by not having to resort to
purchasing the x-lab gorilla cages (guaranteed to not throw bottles-$50each) .
i've seen the bontrager version, even though it's carbon, the clamping mechanism
on the thing makes it one of the heaviest saddle mounts on the market. very
utilitarian though, that you can hook up all sorts of stuff to it.

Art,
I now understand which version you have. Did you contact Profile Design and
express your situation? They are pretty good about trying to make things right
if they find that it's a design problem. They might have a replacement price or
repair price that might work out for you as well.

Hey Art,
I used a Profile Design on my bike and it works well. I'm not sure about the
tab or snapped issue you mention. I'm assuming that
you are referring to the large O-ring that goes around the whole cage. I
noticed that some people mention that their leg hits the cage but I set mine all
the way to the top or the base of the seat post and don't have a problem with
that setting. After about two years the O-ring did snap. This piece is

I'm wondering if anyone has used the Bontrager saddle mounted cage? Like to
know how that one is.
Hope that helps.

I am looking for a 51cm. Please drop me a line if you can point me to one. It

On the INSIDE potion of the rear dropouts. You have to take the rear wheel off
