Re: [yfoil] y weight?

It's a heavy frame, and a very heavy fork. If you want to get down to 17 lbs,
you'll certainly need to spend heavily on very light wheels and a light fork.
Remember that aftermarket forks on y-foils, now that the Serotta spacer thing is
no longer available, are a bit controversial.

I would be stunned if you could get a rideable y-foil down to 16 lbs.

Subject: [yfoil] y weight?

i've looked thru past messages on here and i see that most of ya'll

owners have an average weight of 19-20# for a complete bike. i just

weighed mine today and it came in at 20.73#. is it possible to get

this bike down to the 16-18# range without having to take out a fourth

mortgage on a home?

my bike is all original ultegra triple with mavic cosmic expert wheels

and look pp357(?) pedals.

i was dreaming of swapping out the triples for a compact double (fsa k-

force carbon compact), which in turn will require me to swap out the

shifters and derailleurs (triple to double), and also changing wheels

(bontrager race x lite or rolf vigor), seat (bontrager race x lite or

forte pro slx), and pedals (look keo sprint or time rxs).

if this rebuild starts to look like it's going to hit into the $2500's,

i might not go ahead with that but just purchase another ride, and use

my ride for training and those social group rides. (the trek equinox

ttx looks reaaaaal inviting!!!)

any suggestions?
