I removed and modified the battery box so that it would fit a battery I bought
at Walmart. I also had to make a longer strap using boat top clips. The kind
that are used for the straps with a hook end. I just used them backwards and
used the end where the strap goes through to hook onto the battery box end.(
make sense?). As for the muffler I silver soldered a sweat/thread fitting to the
end of the pipe and am using a screw on Briggs lawn mower muffler rated for 20
hp. Not sure a bout the belt, havn't had that problem yet.

After five years of daily use pulling the heavy manure spreader, I need to
replace some original parts as a precaution:  The battery (cranking slower),
muffler (getting louder), and converter belt (more jerky).  Any suggestions on
replacing other parts?  Any recommendation on where to get the one I listed?
Thanks

I have just bought a used Yerf Dog and when I test drove it it ran
fine. I gave it to my son for Christams and since then we have had
nothing but problems. I found something next to the carburator which
looks like it should have had a cap on it because oil (or something
that looked like mud) was coming out of this hole when you really gave
it some throttle. I found something to cap this hole all of a sudden
when you gave it throttle this liquid starting pooling up under the
carburator and then running down the back side of the engine casing and
dripping onto the pan below. I have checked the oil and it appears that
it uses a little bit but I am worried that the engine will seize if he
goes for an extended drive. I think this cart is about a 2004 model and
I have no manuals. Is there anything or any direction anyone can give
me as to which way to proceed?

The carburetor will have a fuel line running to left side, a vacuum
line from the intake elbow running on the right side, a bowl drain run
off the bottom and the air box elbow off the intake side of the
carburetor.

The air box will have crankcase gas capture from the the valve cover
with a drain running down and a final transmission vent. I suspect you
are referring to the valve cover line that releases crankcase pressure
and may exhaust some oil?

Download the service manual for your Yerf from

There's a vent that can do this sometimes.

It shouldn't have any "mud" in it though.

Sorry you not been getting any responses. The GX150 has a Honda
scooter based GY6 engine. The industrial type engines and
transmissions you have are quite different than ours. A small engine
repair shop would be the best place for expertise in the smaller
Yerf-Dogs.

I've got a Y'Dog.

My son has one too.

My Y'Dog has excellent brakes.

My son's brakes had been a problem all year.

Long story short.

Clean the system out.

The master cylinder should put out a GOOD amount of fluid, not a little bit.

Check the seals. His was getting in the way.
I took the mc apart and put it back together.

I also took the caliper apart and put it back together.

Make sure everything is clean and works independantly before you make a system
out of it.

These brake systems are very finicky.

They require that the entire system be clean, very clean.

Keep working at it.

You'll get it.

Good Luck,

When I got the dog it had a leaking m/c and replaced that. had brakes
for a while and then turned the dog over.Stupid!
Still had brakes but not as well. then they died completely. Caliper
acted frozen , Got a new caliper and no go. got clean line from m/c to
caliper, clean line from reserve to m/c and good compression at the m/c
itself. but when reserve is hooked up i see no fluid level change when
the pedal is pushed. is the plunger not going in enough? also has
anyone concidered swapping over to a mechanical brake on the disk?
looks like it would be a ton easier to work on and cheaper to replace
pads?
  thanks all:)

There's a guy in New Jersey who rides in a stock 4206 with his wife.
The two of them together have got to weigh in at no less than
450lbs.. The buggy itself weighs about 400lbs...

You'll know if the weight is a problem... It'll bog down... I weight
180 lbs... I've had a passenger in there that weighs ~250 lbs....

Just get in a ride...

Don't pay too much for one of the Y'Dogs... I've been finding them
quite cheap lately. Let me know where you are from and I'll tell you
what you should be paying. The cost does vary with location... Here
in the Northeast, used buggies are getting pretty cheap.

Page 3 of the model 3206 manual states: This vehicle is designed for one

operator and one passenger. A passenger on any vehicle must be sufficient

age, understanding, mental capacity, and physical capability to act to

protect himself/herself, and wear a D.O.T approved helmet at all times. This

kart is not recommended cumulative weights exceeding 250 pounds.
