I removed and modified the battery box so that it would fit a battery I bought
at Walmart. I also had to make a longer strap using boat top clips. The kind
that are used for the straps with a hook end. I just used them backwards and
used the end where the strap goes through to hook onto the battery box end.(
make sense?). As for the muffler I silver soldered a sweat/thread fitting to the
end of the pipe and am using a screw on Briggs lawn mower muffler rated for 20
hp. Not sure a bout the belt, havn't had that problem yet.

After five years of daily use pulling the heavy manure spreader, I need to
replace some original parts as a precaution: The battery (cranking slower),
muffler (getting louder), and converter belt (more jerky). Any suggestions on
replacing other parts? Any recommendation on where to get the one I listed?
Thanks
