I wouldn't do the McMaster thing.saving a buck is going to cost you more in
the long run.breaking a ball joint in the woods sucks! It's not THAT much
more to do it right the first time.I'd get the ones from Spiderbox
Performance.

Yes, that's it. It was the snap ring. I may end going the mcmaster
fix route (it's only $50 or so). There are options on eBay for $60-
$90. I'll probably get a snap ring in the mean time. Thanks for all
the help. I've got a reverse kit, a windshield and a soft top cover
to install this weekend. Thanks againf or the help.

Try to stay away from the McMaster joints!! Cheap, $6 and held together with a plastic ring. Spiderbox's work great, but if you have a heavy mod like I do they...
