no probs - i'm only on the yeovil list anyway - and some of it was quite
interesting.

PS shouldn't Dover play 5 in midfield then? :)

Hi all,

If you are going to the Dover match on Saturday, and would
like to take part, then please do by sending your MOTM 1-2-3, match rating:
Performance 1-5 and Entertainment 1-5 plus any comments on the match to
ytfc.motm@... or use the voting form linked from the match reports
on the web sites.

A voting form can always be found at
http://www.ciderspace.dial.pipex.com/fixtures/motm-voting-form.shtml

Or from
http://www.ytfc.com/cgi-bin/report.pl/00/conf/away/dover

One of the features of the MOTM competition are the comments that voters
send in with their votes, which I then post to the list as soon as possible.
The idea being to stimulate discussion and provide a first hand view point
of the game from people who actually saw it.

I am aware that not all voters are actually subscribed to this mailing list
and therefor
do not get to see all the comments from other supporters, which is a shame
and I welcome comments on how we can make them available.

I have been asked by one webmaster if he could be put the comments on his
website, this would seem a good idea on the face of it but, there was a lot
of opposition to this when I started to post comments to the forum at the
beginning of the season, so I stopped.

Another option is for all 'ytfc' websites who provide match reports,
especially those who have a voting form, to provide a link to the mailing
list and encourage people to join.
If voters are told where the comments are published they may join the list.

Nearly all the votes come in via the voting forms on the Ciderspace website
(75%) and the Independant ytfc website (20%) the balance coming directly to
me.

I'll await all your thoughts, remember it's your competition, it's your list
and your comments.

Cheers all,

Paul Chesterman

There's nothing stopping any webmaster putting comments he receives on his
match reports of course, other than the arguments which were brought up last
time which I don't propose to re-hash again unless absolutely necessary,
life's too short.... Suffice it to say that the obvious and most sensible
thing to do is to provide a link to the list from the voting form as we do
on Ciderspace. Easy enough innit?

There you go Stew, Mark and Sara the gauntlet is firmly laid down! :-)

Seriously, if you want to have a go through it and let myself and Jon know what
you
want changed/updated, then let us know as it is effectively your pages. In
particularly, I know I went slightly askew on the merchandise photos a few
months
back but have a lot more time for that sort of thing, so if there's any info
like
that or pictures you want taking, just bring the stuff along to a match and I'll
get
it organised for you.

We did the G&WSC pages after about 15 months of hassling them for new
information, so
if you can get in your requests a little more quickly then that would be cool!
;-)

That's the most logical thing. If a web site is providing a means to enter the
MOTM
votes, then it's only practical to tell people where the comments are published.
In
fact if someone is providing comments against their vote then surely you've
*got* to
as a matter of courtesy warn them that their comments are published, and where
they
are published, in case that person thinks they are providing private comments
that
they would not like to see publically available to other people. If that's not
being
done already, then I think it ought to be, as if they are not on this mailing
list
they may not be aware that their comments are not private.

The details of the mailing list can be found here

http://www.ciderspace.dial.pipex.com/features/mailing-list.shtml

ISTR from the last time this was discussed, HHH provided quite an eloquent
analysis
of why he felt the comments should not go as far as the Internet, and I think
that
there was general agreement on the subject. So therefore it's probably just a
case as
to whether viewpoints have changed during that time. The idea of publishing
comments
onto the internet is a fine one in principle until you start to realise the
implications of it.

Dear All,

Watched the Non-League Football Show at lunchtime. Nice to see R & D stumble;
pity Turkey was in top form, but Easter's coming so he'll have other things on
his mind soon!

And talking of 'stumbles': Does anyone agree with me that some action should be
taken against Jackson for his blatant dive: I presume the ref thought he saw the
incident clearly, but totally mis-interpreted it. Can the Conference take any
action against Jackson? - if only to award him the Jacques Cousteau Memorial
Award for services to diving.

P. S. If he tries it against us Skivvo and O'Brien should sit on him and drown
the little b*gger.

Can't get to Dover due to Sat morning work - I'd go to R & D, to boo Jackson and
cheer for Leigh, but I don't want to add any more money to their inflated
finances!

Cheers,

Jonathan.

Theoretically, he could be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. But to
play
Devil's Advocate, you'd have to ask why the likes of Klinsmann and Ginola have
never
been had up for their sins in the past. Furthermore, if the ref *had* spotted
it, all
he could have given was a yellow card for the dive (ungentlemanly conduct). So
in
effect, putting Jackson in front of the FA would achieve little as they'd
probably
call for the punishment to be the same as it would be if he had been 'spotted'
by the
ref.

As I've said on their forum, I think he will get his punishment elsewhere. Any
Conference referee who's watched his theatrics against Northwich and Kettering
will
probably be aware of what he's up to now, and will probably stamp down on it
rather
hard from now on.

I think we should resort to the stylish retribution that Belgrave RFC used
to hand out. An opposing centre eye-gouged on of our flankers, so I was
instructed to hoist a high ball onto him. He caught it, our back row caught
him, and three seconds later he'd collected enough studs for us to play
noughts and crosses on his back and legs all afternoon.

Our unofficial club motto was "Villainy With Style". The official one is
some rubbish about success coming from individuals giving their best to the
team and inspiring others. Sound familiar?

Jonathan.

The design of the mousemat is based around one of Ciderspace's photos, so you
can
view the main feature of the Mousemat Design already on the Ciderspace News Page
here:

http://www.ciderspace.dial.pipex.com/news/news.shtml

The picture is taken from our Reading crowd photo galleries and you can find a
larger
picture of the photo used for the mousemat here:

http://www.ciderspace.dial.pipex.com/features/photos-oct99-reading1.shtml

whilst the second Reading photo gallery can be found here:

http://www.ciderspace.dial.pipex.com/features/photos-oct99-reading2.shtml

So if anyone wants to own that photo (taken by myself) as a mousemat with a
green
border and a white "Yeovil Town Independent Supporters Association" title on the
mat
then bring yer pennies along to Dover.

Thanks for the offer

I spoke to Mark last night, reference the away travel problems which I will
be sending an e-mail out about later this morning.

I will take it on hand to speak to both Mark and Sara this weekend and one
of us will endeavor to get this page update as often as it is needed to,
though as Hugh says it was last updated in Feb (So Paul we are not that out
of date, maybe we need to have a little bit more info on there, if anyone

Our PR man has a full time job and isn't a wizard on the old web so we need
to get something sorted out, but that is a committee problem and not for you
readers out there.

I went to the club yesterday and spoke to Jean Cotton fans may need to be
aware of the following:

PATRON'S SEASON TICKETS

If your patron's season ticket is for the main stand (like mine is), you
will not be allowed to enter the home terrace, as normal (You will not be
able to stand on the terrace with a seat ticket at all). If you wish to
go on the home terrace (as I usually do) you are to take your season ticket
to the club office and they will take the ticket off you and issue you with
a terrace ticket (Free of charge). The club will then sell your seat ticket
to another fan.

JUNIOR GLOVERS

Junior glovers will not be able to enter the home terrace on the day by
showing their ID Card and paying £1.50 which is the usual custom for home
games. If you are a Junior Glover or your children are (Mark, Hugh) and you
intend bringing them to the game, again you have to take the membership card
to the club shop beforehand and purchase a special ticket for the game at
the usual cost of £1.50.

Remember they have a maximum number of tickets for the home terrace (when I
say home terrace I mean away terrace) so do not leave it to the last month
to do the above. You can always phone the club and tell them your
situations and I am sure they will put a ticket back for you.

Badger/Jon I know that not all fans are or this list not sure if you want to
put something on the website.

Yours

Stew

Thanks Stew. The Junior Glovers bit we were aware of and have got on the site
...
although are you meaning that Junior Glovers CAN go on the terrace? We got given
the
impression that they could only go in Main Stand Block A for the 1.50 pound
tickets.

The bit about Patrons being able to switch I wasn't aware of - I had assumed
they
would have to sit in the area their season ticket was designated for.

I'll speak to Jean soon, but thanks for the info - it's a bl**dy nightmare
trying to
cover all these permutations. Someone on the forum has claimed that there's no
family
tickets on sale which is again something we weren't aware of!

Gawd help us if Hereford or Scarborough is all ticket as well!!

Thank for the reply, the bit about the Junior Glovers is related to standing
on the home terrace, as you can imagine some parents are not happy about
leaving their kids with other people - especially at a football game. I
certainly wasn't, I know that their view on the terrace may not be the best,
but at least she is with me I can look after her.

She will be able to stand on the home terrace, as will all Junior Glovers
providing they get their ticket before hand as previously explained.

Have a good day, can't make it today but confident that the lads will do the
business against our bogey side (well at least away from home).

Cheers

Stew

No relevance to you Stew as you're sorted now, but in case it's not obvious to
others, ten players from the Yeovil Town Ladies team will be supervising the
Block A
in the Main Stand and will be there to look after the needs of any children who
are
in that area without their parents.
