WE'LL BE READY FOR ROBINS, SAYS LEROY
11:00 - 02 August 2004
Gulls boss Leroy Rosenior said: "To be honest, I thought we did so well in
the first 25 to 30 minutes that I thought 'We've peaked too early here'.
"But then our passing got sloppy and the brightness went.
"It was nothing more than I expected really, with the work that we've been
doing in training.
"Craig (Taylor) lost his man for the first goal, but the other goals came
from us giving the ball away.
"Our legs are a bit heavy at the moment, because the players have done a lot
of work recently.
"They need a rest period now, before they sharpen up again, and this next
week is very important for us.
"I was very pleased with Jo (Kuffour) and Bayo (Akinfenwa). They and Craig
Taylor got good hours in after they'd been out with injuries.
"Some of the lads were upset that I didn't keep them on longer, but playing
a full game now is a bigger risk of injuries.
"I know people get concerned about losing, but it's not a concern to me.
"In fact, I don't think we've won one of these games while I've been here.
"We are trying to peak for Bristol City."
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson said: "For the first 20 minutes I could have had
a heart attack if I'd screamed and shouted all that I was thinking.
"But at some stage you've got to give the responsibility to the players, and
they turned it around before half-time.
"The boys played some great football - both sides if you like - and we ended
up using only Adrian Caceres and Chris Weale in goal for the whole match.
"All the players are showing that they can affect the game. That's what I
want from the squad.
"We did the same against Cardiff (3-3) in midweek, and I have a team that
can come back from losing situations."
