My favorite spoonerism is one that my mother told me about when I was
a kid. She had been reading a biography of somebody (Spooner?), and
it contained the following. When attempting to announce that 'The
Lord is a loving Shepherd', he instead stated that 'The Lord is a
shoving leopard.' The image still makes me smile.

Hi Sifu,

I am a young white female age 16 looking for a master to teach me
tantric sex. I am also a virgin, and with measurements 36,28,35. I
am mainly looking for a father figure and also a baby because I heard
that you are good at making babies. I heard from a friend you have 2
dozen babies from 20 different women and i want to join them. I
heard that you think you are god -well i believe you. I also have a
rich father who could support your families.

love joanne

I looked at the mirror again, and caught sight of myself. Greasy,
lanky, waxy, sour, frowning, beaked, black toothed. Old. "No wonder
she detests me. I can't even stand the sight of myself", I said
viciously.

Neither by words nor by the patriarch;
Neither by colors nor by sound was I enlightened.
But, at midnight, when I blew out
The candle and went to bed,
Suddenly, I reached the dawn.
Profound quietude delivered me
To the transparent moonlight.
After enlightenment one understands
That the Six Classics contain not even a word.

hi everyone! ive been quite for a long time, but an email
adverticement i recieved really woke me up. they are selling videos
of easy to learn ( so they claim)self defense which would be
effective even for beginners and those with no time for trainning. i
hope you dont fall for it. a video can be helpful for someone who
have already trained for many years, but for a starting student, a
dojo, group, school-whatever is the best place to start. reason being
1. you need a partner to train the techniques with.
2. you need at least 6 partners with different heights and weights
and speed to fully understand the proper application of a tech.
3.a video will not correct you if you do things wrong.
4. that even those practicing everyday gets hit and hurt in sparring
5. meaning- there is no such thing as easy one technique solve-all
manuever.
please, for those who want to earn, dont do so that others may get
hurt ( possible very badly hurt)with false belief that a few simple
moves can save their hide in life and death situations.

self defense needs both heart and soul to be effective.

and even then, the best defense is to avoid trouble and to run away
as fast as you can from an attacker.

Yes, avoiding trouble is very important. We should be aware as we
move through the day.

Self defence is great :) Also important is not going into the
mountains if you know tigers dwell there. One of the precepts for
buddhist monks and nuns is not to walk alone in dangerous places.

F.A.O Sifu Desmond Williams,

This is Jamie O'Dwyer, a former student of Yellow Dragon club just
interested in how everyone is doing. I trained for about a year on
and off between 2000-2001 reching white sash level.

I no longer live in London which is the reason I do not train with u
anymore. However I enjoyed your classes immensely and the demanding
nature of the training. My experience in training with you has
inspired me to carry on studying a martial arts with the same kind of
depth as Yellow Dragon Fist.

I graduated from Uni of East london in May 2001 and now live in
Swindon where i am originally from. I have been training in Bujinkan
Ninjutsu for over 6 months and am currently a 9th Kyu grade.

I hope to pop in and join u for a training session just to say hello
to Desmond, Clint, Steve etc. and see how all my old training
colleagues have progressed. Maybe swop some lethal techniques too!!!

Regards

Jamie (Spurs fan)

Escaping Abusive Relationships...The Whole Story
- Part 3

Pop quiz hot shot. Does your
boyfriend or girlfriend:

Always check up on you
and constantly accuse you of "cheating"?
Keep you
from seeing friends?
Tell you how to dress?
Ignore your opinions or feelings?
Criticize you for
little things or embarrass you in public?
Destroy
your personal property?
Hit, punch, grab, slap,
kick, or bite you?
Force you to have sex?
Threaten to commit suicide or threaten to kill
you?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, you may
be a victim
Abuse comes in all shapes and forms -
physical, emotional, verbal, etc, but the sooner you come
to terms with it, the better. If you're in an
abusive relationship, it helps to confide in people you
trust - friends, family member, or counselor. Contact a
crisis center for support and resources or seek legal
action.

What about your friends?
If you have a
friend who is a victim of dating violence, she needs
your support. Listen to her and believe what she says.
Don't push her - leaving and recovering from an abusive
relationship takes time. Help your friend find safety, which
may mean telling a trusted adult, counselor, or
authority figure.

You should not confront the
abuser unless your friend gives you the OK - but even
then, you may be putting your friend in danger, not to
mention yourself. Think rationally. Most of all, don't
blame your friend. Nobody deserves to be abused.

The Stalking Factor
Following, incessant phone
calls, unwanted communication- stalking occurs when
someone makes you believe that he/she will cause you
physical harm or mental distress. If you think you're
being stalked, you can get help from friends, family or
support groups. There are also ways to gather evidence
and take legal action with the help of your parents
or another trusted adult.

How can you help
prevent this situation? Get caller ID or an unlisted
number. Inform your friends, family and co-workers not to
give out your personal info. Document events, dates,
times, witnesses, locations, and emotions. Save all
recorded phone messages and written materials including
letters, cards, and e-mails. Keep all legal
documents.

Remember: No matter what an abusive partner tells you,
abuse is never your fault.
