Hello all respected Kung Fu practitioners.
I am new here and look forward to a good forum.
I practice Chow Gar and also two indian arts: Gatka (Sikhs art) and
Kalaripayatt (Hindu art from South India).

Kalaripayatt is thought to be the mother of all martial arts, dating
back to Vedic times about 8000 years ago at least. Then buddhist
monks like Boddhidharma (an indian) migrated outside of india and
spread his knowledge which in time became most of oriental arts known
today, as well as traders from all over orient traveled to India and
adapted the martial knowledge there as they went back to their homes
and cultures!

I am a martial artist, yogi and drummer.

Take care!

JAI KALI MA!!!
JAI BAJRANG BALI!!!
JAI PHIL COLLINS!!!

That's a good question. It may depend on the individual.

My friend got in a fight and used kung fu to defend himself and defeat the 3 men
attacking him. All 3 were quite drunk so it wasn't that difficult but it was
good practice.

present conditions.

Punishment is weak and kids that need a good betting no longer get it. If a kid
mugs you and you beat them up you are more likely to go to jail. The law is
weak.......

Yes with good feng shui and minimalising bad star action you reduce your
exposure to trouble.

Violent crime is going through the roof at the
moment, I do not know about kung fu but maybe spiritual
protection combined with kung fu is the best way to stay out
of trouble. Staying alerrt and having spiritual
protection is an important combination when dealing with
psychos with guns.

It will not be long before some

So true, so many martial arts people are mentally
lacking and only trying to make up in there martial arts
through what they are missing. Martial arts people should
all undergo some kind of mental training before they
clench their fists. If you cannot control your mind how
can you control your body?

I agree with you, kung fu is not only limited to physical training. The mental
side is the most important.

Looks like the world has temporarily calmed down,
but how long before suicidal terrorists hell bent on
destruction do some serious damage? Islamic fundamentalism
and the innate evil within Islam has had a very
positive effect in awakening people to the temporal state
of life and the importance of cultivating body,
spirit and mind. Without evil people we would be lazy
about improving themselves, so we should thank the evil
moslems for making people more aware. Kung fu is a very
important part of this, strenghtening and disiplining the
mind. Moslems cannot do this and have a flawed pschotic
nature, always trying to control what can never be
controlled, which is why in the end they will be defeated and
destroyed, largely through their own ignorance and lack of
mental training.

We must therefore train as
often as possible to defeat this evil within and
outside ourselves sooner rather than later.

I do pushing hands. It makes my mind more natural
and receptive to change. I can feel every little move
and I know which way the energy is going. When I
know, I can put my opponent off balance and defeat him.
Then I will always win.

I just posted this on the other board...

I
explained earlier in a previous post about the lack of real
conversation on the subject of kung fu...it seems that no one
can answer other than i like guns, guns are good. Do
you people do kung fu if so why dont you try to share
something of interest with everyone and tell us about your
style. That way other people can contribute with
constructive comments not sentences that contain no more than
4 syllables. I thought this was a place to discuss
kung fu?.

It seems that anyone who tries to
post something of any interest people just respond
with mundane answers...great wonder all you said you
do Tai Chi, I have done Tai Chi for about 3 years
tell us about it. I have noticed several similarities
to Southern mantis some of the forms even have the
same moves (fut sau has golden cockrel stands on one
leg, found in many styles of Tai Chi), do you do
pushing hands? or sensitivity training tell us what you
have learnt, now I have started the conversation lets
start an interesting conversation people...

Kung Fu & Feng Shui? Yes, In many ways, Kung Fu
is not the only answer! First, You can not fight
your Luck. Second, you can not break the cruise. You
can not change your wife's mind if she want to
divorce you. Feng Shui can help to improve your
life.

This year Master Wong is publishing a monthly Chinese
Calender together with his 112 page book. Both are
absolutely FREE to download from the Yellowdragon website.
They contain valuable information to help you begin
using Chinese Astrology and feng shui improve your
life.

The book focuses on the powerful Flying
Star system of Feng Shui, of which little is known or
published in the West. Flying Star Feng Shui incorporates
Chinese Astrology to track the movements of the planets
in the solar system and thus chart the changing
cycles of energy on the earth. With this information you
can learn how to avoid the negative areas and enhance
the positive.

After reading this book you’ll
have a better understanding of how to organise your
environment and put yourself in the best position for success
in 2002.
The book has the following
information:
-the essential things you need to do this year to
maximise good feng shui and minimise damage
- monthly
chinese calender
- what each of the 12 animal signs
can expect this year
- which flying star is in
each of the 8 directions and what effects they will
have
- what flying star feng shui predicts for the
UK and the world for 2002
- how the Chinese
calendar converts into the Western calendar
- how feng
shui relates to scientific logic
and much more
invaluable information.
Next year Master Simon Wong will
publish a far more extensive guide to using Flying Star
Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology for success in 2003.

about 4 yrs...I have learnt quiet a few forms but still
love to perform the first form Saam Bo Jin (three step
peircing arrow), when performed correctly with the dip
gwut gung (rib bone power)you can feel the energy and
the short power developing...don't get me wrong I am
no expert and what I say is not law just what I have
experienced whilst learning my art
