Re: Offence

Have you ever been in war? Have you ever been in
a riot? I have been in both! and the tactics are
the same. The enemy is many and attack at once from
many directions. Will the body armor protect me? Am I
really doing the right thing? When the ultimate
adrenaline rush takes over as one goes deeper into the fear
mode of kill or be killed, acciednts do
happen.

When they are told to break up a demonstration, they
can see and sense the non-violence (if there was
truly no resistance). If there is resistance, then the
natural instinct of survival begins to take over slowly,
and they WILL make mistakes. If the crowd would have
discipated or gone to the ground NOBODY would have been
hurt.

Cops are not perfect. In my opionion, it is their lack
of training, that leads to all their
problems.

I agree that a good portion of the police
officers:
A. ...Look for a chance to use force (and get away
with it) Almost like live testing.
B. ... are
corrupt to some extent. and
C. ... need a hell of lot
more training. Both in physical conduct and
sensitivity as well as the necessity and use of violence
and/or weapons.

As someone who has been there,
there is No Excuse for loosing control. However, know
that it is very hard.

A dog for example. If you
run from the dog, he will chase you. Somethings in
nature are hard to overcome. A good martial arts program
will engrain a New Nature. As an adult we forget how
to fall down properly. As a martial artists we
practice falling at high rates of speed with no
damage.

Kung-Fu means Time and Energy.... as it takes much of
both to reach a reasonable level of control and skill.
The police acadamy is only 3 months in New York City.
The majority of which is spent learning laws and
procedures. And the admissions board of directors is more
interested in an applicants College Credits in Criminology
than their physical and mental trainging background.

Once on a Police Force, I believe that a Martial Arts
program should be MANDATORY for the life of the job. The
time spent in a Dojang should be PAID for as
On-the-job training. Only this type of training can prevent
and prepare an officer for the career he/she has
chosen.

enough babbeling.

Sifu Zerok
SWDKF
