Re: Offence

What a terrible thing for you to have
experienced, especially since the police are supposed to be
civil servants serving the people's best interests. I
can now see why the police are often referred to as
'pigs' by many of the public. I personally think the
police were out of hand and should be reprimanded and
made to pay compensation for their heavy-handed
approach to such a peaceful demonstration. I have a friend
in Hong Kong who said to me once that police are
merely criminals with a license.

I am sure not
all the police are corrupt, but I have yet to find a
really good one. I suppose it depends on your luck
whether you meet a good one.

Although in the
policeman's defence, I think that they may have been given
the order form the government to be so hard on the
protestors. It looks like they may have just been following
orders. Remember how the protesters who spoke out when
the Chinese president came to London were beaten in
open public? Would this be tolerated under other
circumstances?

I think it would be best for everyone to learn
self-defence. If I were physically assulted by any person of
authority I would most definately have used my Kung Fu
skills to protect myself, wouldn't you?
