Greetings my friends and brotjers in Yaw-Yan
Tay-San or Pamatay Sandata was established by Master Penaflor from
Sulu...Master Penaflor was a student of Master Nap in the the old Yao-
Yan style...the former Chief instructors of Tay-San were Robert
Pineda and Franco Guerero...until a misunderstanding between Pineda
and Penaflor. Apparently, Pineda wants Tay-San fighters to compete in
tournaments while Penaflor wants to focus in Actual Combat
fighting...So Pineda and Guerero decided to form their own style thus
evolves Takadi or Talino, Katawan, Diwa.
After a while Pineda and Guerero also had a misunderstanding and
Guerero decided to form his own style thus evolves Kalasag.
Both Pineda and Guerero are former Yaw-Yans including Kalasag chief
instructor Abegael and Fighter John Mark Fabila. Pictures (in the
background)of Pineda and Guerero along with Sibukan founder Boy
Garcia who was also Yaw-Yan can be found in the Zapata Photo Gallery
during Zapatas fight with US heavywt Robert Ewing...
Tay-San students are great fighters...(I was one of them, before I
became Yaw-Yan...)
Tay-San style is great but with all due respect to my former Tay-San
buddies...Tay-San is not as effective a Yaw-Yan as per my own oppinion
only...
as far as the relationship between the styles is concerned...its
quite funny to say that the students seem to hate each other but the
fighters and instructors are all good friends...Abegael is the
kumpare of Zapata...Fabila is also my kumpare along with Zapata and
MuayThai Kru Robert Valdez...
Despite the fact that most of us are now involved in other styles
like MuayThai and MMA to be specific,
we are all proud of being Yaw-Yans...
NAKATATAK NA SA AMIN ANG YAW-YAN HABANG BUHAY...
Thanks
Wanlu Lunaria
