To Friends and Colleagues of MWDG,
The whitewater course at the Adventure Sports Center in McHenry, MD
will see water for the first time on October 16th. Needless to say,
there's lots of excitement about this by all who are involved,
especially the project's founders who were inspired to create a great
man made whitewater course after the 1989 World Championships on the
Savage River.
On Friday the 20th ASCI will be inducting the 2nd class of the
Whitewater Hall of Fame, celebrating an international cadre of pretty
incredible, very special contributors to whitewater sport. The next
morning MWDG will host a brunch and provide a short presentation on
the project. Hear the designers describe the vision for the course,
and head out to the course for a brief tour. Conditions permitting,
water will run for those interested in braving what might be chilly
weather.
As sponsors of the weekend, we invite you to participate, and have a
limited number of guest seats at both the induction dinner
and "Legends Brunch." If you're far from western Maryland, view this
as simply a notice that we're psyched about the project nearing
reality. If you're within striking distance to make the trip, let us
know if you'd like to join us as a dinner / brunch guest. As we have
a limited number of seats for our guests, please let us know as soon
as you can. Of course, there are additional tickets available at
http://www.adventuresportscenter.com/IWHOF/hofame.htm
After this fall's tuning period, the course will go into hibernation
until the early spring. The Adventure Sport Center will opening in
April, 2007 so there will be plenty of opportunity to visit should
this next month be impractical. Please don't hesitate to ask
questions and please DO let us know if you plan a trip.
Wish us luck, and join us if you can!
