Election E-mail   Message List

Hey Everyone,

This is the e-mail ya'll have been waiting for . . . maybe.  Elections are going to be this coming Sunday (Sept 4th) at 1 pm in Lopata Room 22 (downstairs across from the laundry room).  I'm trying to get a bigger room, so check your e-mail Saturday for any updates/reminders.  I'll try not to make the rest of this e-mail too long:

1.  Elections:  Three positions are available: Secretary, Webmaster, and SCF Representative.  If you are even considering running for any position please e-mail me to let me know.  You will need to prepare a brief speech describing your interest in participating with the Club Tennis team as well as your qualifications for the position.  We highly encourage everyone (including Freshmen) to apply.  Tell your friends if you don't think they're receiving this e-mail.

Secretary's duties:  Attend all Exec Board meetings and record notes.  Send out e-mail announcements, keep lines of communication open between Exec Board members, and maintain the Club Tennis information folder containing contacts and instructions.

Webmaster:  Update the website when important events have occurred/are going to occur.  Keep the contact information on the website up to date.

Sports Club Federation (SCF) Representative:  Attend the SCF meeting once a month (on Monday evenings at 6 pm).  It is a good experience to learn how the club sports function.  You will also vote on issues that arise between SCF and Student Union.  You serve as the club representative from Club Tennis so you will have to stay informed about club activities as well as relay information from the meeting to the President.

These positions would not take up more than 2 hours per week and obviously are not stressful jobs so definitely consider becoming an integral part of the Club Team.

2.  Practice Schedule:  A practice schedule will be revealed during the meeting.  Expect two evening times during the week and one afternoon time on the weekend.  Feel free to get out and hit on your own.

3.  Dues:  Dues will be $20 and cover the court fees at Dwight Davis Tennis Center (the club we practice at in Forest Park) as well as tennis balls.  It is very important that we collect dues otherwise we will not have the equipment to support a team.  Dues last the entire year.  Checks can be made out to Washington University Club Tennis c/o Ben Oberman.  We have to set up a new account this year so a Club Tennis checking account has not yet been created.

4.  Question/Answer:  We will be entertaining any questions you might have about Club Tennis.

Thanks so much for your interest and let's hope for a great year!!
Don't forget to e-mail me if you plan on running for a position,

Ben Oberman

P.S.
If you have further questions you can always e-mail me.  Also join our Facebook group and check it for announcements.
