Oh yes oh yes it's that time of the year again-- weather is beautiful,
people are scrambling to study for finals and finish projects
and...it's time for the Club Tennis end-of-the-season pizza meeting!
So, this Wednesday, April 30, from 11:30am -12:30pm, we will
meet in the Quad, at the front entrace to Holme's Lounge and
have a pizza picnic in the hopefully nice weather. At the meeting, we
will elect officers for next year, discuss how the past year went, hang
out with other club tennis players, and eat pizza! If you want to
run for an officer position for next semester, vote for new officers,
offer a comment or suggestion about how club tennis is run, or just
hang out, come to the meeting and let your voice be heard!
Here's a list of the Club Tennis officer positions and their duties, in
case your are interested in running for a position:
President: over-sees everything
Vice-president: works in close conjunction with the president on
over-seeing and planning
Treasurer: Manages the money, collects dues, reimburses members from
Club budget
Webmaster: updates the website and ladder, posts match results, manages
Yahoo! group and Facebook group
Secretary: organizes club files, club photos, history of match results
Match Play Coordinators (around 3): plan the travel, lodging, and
logistics of a match. serve as liason between the two teams who will be
playing; also contact teams to set up matches when we don't already
have matches scheduled
SCF Rep: goes to Sports Club Federation meetings once a month,
represents our club at the meetings and reports on the proceedings to
the president
If you are interested in running for a position, please email me
before the meeting so that I can make up a list of who is running
beforehand. Also, if you want to run for a position or give an
idea but you can't make the meeting, email me to let me know or to tell
me your idea. Sorry for the late notice about the meeting, but I hope
you all will be able to attend!
Last but not least, the last official practice of the semester will be
this Sunday, April 27 at the Wash U courts, from 1-3pm. I
unfortunately cannot attend, but I hope you all get out and play some
tennis before taking those finals.
Best of luck,
Brian Blosser
