Hello Clubbers,
Hope your Spring Breaks are going well. Here's a little email telling
about what's going on when you get back to school...
1. Outdoor Practice: Our outdoor practices will resume starting Monday,
March 17. We will switch back to three practices a week, with a
schedule of Monday 7-9pm, Thursday 7-9pm, and Sunday 1-3pm. Practices
are open to all club members and are held at Tao Tennis Center (the Wash
U courts in front of the A/C).
2. Potential matches: We are trying to organize a tournament with
Wichita State and SLU sometime at the end of March or beginning of
April, hopefully hosted at Wash U. Also, Dan Bratetic from USTA
Missouri Valley is trying to organize a 1-day round robin tournament in
Kansas City Saturday April 26. I will give more details to these
matches as they become available.
3. Sectionals website: Click on this link for the USTA story of
Sectionals and a (fairly cheesy) video with some footage from the
tourney.

4. Nationals? We're still waiting to here if we got a wild card bid to
Nationals in Cary Park, NC. I will let you know as soon as they tell us
if we are in or not.
5. Uniforms and Gas Receipts: Everyone who had a uniform at Sectionals,
be sure to wash it and return it to me at one of the next practices.
Also, anyone who paid for gas driving to Sectionals, make sure you get
your receipts to Chelsea to get reimbursed.
6. The mens' and womens' varsity tennis teams are having a Special
Olympics Tennis Clinic from 10am-12pm on Saturday, March 22. Mens'
Coach Roger Follmer is looking for volunteers to help out during the
event, and this is a good opportunity to provide an enjoyable afternoon
of tennis and games for all the participants. Volunteers would need to
arrive at 9:30 am and would receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and a pizza
lunch at 12:15. Email Coach Follmer at follmer@... and
tell him that you are on the Club Tennis Team and that you want to
volunteer if you are interested.
Thanks for reading the long email, and I hope you are all excited about
getting back into practice after Spring Break!
