Hello again,
And welcome to all interested tennis players who signed up for the email
list at last night's activity fair. I just wanted to resend my previous
email about practice details, when, where, how to get there, etc. I
copied my previous email at the bottom of this one.
A note on the weather: I'll send out an email to cancel practice if it is
raining pretty hard by 5:30, but in every other case, we will have
practice.

Hello there Club Tennis,
I hope you all are ready to have our first practice and play some
tennis, because it's coming up fast. It will take place this
Thursday, September 6 from 6-8 pm at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in
Forest Park. "Where is Dwight Davis Tennis Center?" you ask, or more
importantly, "How do I get there?" Look at the bottom of this email
for the several ways to get there, including rides from the South 40.
Ideally, we will have practices Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-8
at Dwight Davis, and Sunday practices from 1-3 pm at the Wash U
Courts. Starting in the month of October, we will move our Monday and
Thursday night practices over to the Wash U Courts as well. I will
send out an additional email if there are any changes to the practice
schedule.
Lastly, we ask Club Tennis members to pay dues of $20 sometime during
the first couple of weeks. These dues cover some of our operating
expenses, such as court rental, new tennis balls, gas and lodging for
travel matches, etc, and are good for the whole year (in other words,
we only collect dues once a year). So just try to remember to bring
$20 to one of the first practices.
See you Thursday,
Brian Blosser

**************Ways to Get to Dwight Davis Tennis Center***************
1. Carpool from the 40: Meet at the Clocktower at 5:45, there will
be some Club Tennis members there with cars who can take you to the
tennis courts.
2. Take the Metrolink/Metrobus: If you are getting on at the Big
Bend or Skinker Stations, take the line east and get off at the Forest
Park Station. Or, take the Metrobus #1 Wustl Gold Line east to the
Forest Park Station. Once there, walk south on DeBaliviere towards
the Missouri History Museum. Continue walking past the history
museum, and you will see a tennis complex behind it. That's Dwight
Davis.
3. Ride you bike: Head east on Forsyth Blvd. When you hit Skinker,
keep going straight into Forest Park (the road that you're on will
change it's name to Lagoon Dr.) Just keep going straight on this
road, passing the Emerson Grand Basin on your right, and eventually
you will see Dwight Davis on your right. It's about a 10 min ride
from the 40.
4. Walk: Same directions as biking, only slower. It's about a 20 min
walk.
