Club Tennis Members,

I hope you all had a relaxing break and are ready for another
successful semester. We have a huge season ahead of us, so I hope you
are all ready for some great tennis, and most importantly to have some
fun. The following are important announcements:

1. We will be having a CLUB TENNIS MEETING this FRIDAY at 4:00 PM at
Whispers. All officers are required to come, and this meeting is also
meant for anyone who is at all interested in contributing to the
future of club tennis. We will discuss the upcoming season, as well as
what anyone wants to change/improve about club tennis, such as
practices, ladder system and anything that might be important. I
highly recommend anyone, especially freshman and sophomores currently
on the competitive team to come to this meeting .

We will also be electing new officers for the positions of Secretary,
SCF rep, and Webmaster (people currently with these positions are
allowed to reapply), so anyone interested in these positions or even
in just helping out with club must come to the meeting. If you cannot
make the meeting because of a conflict, but are still interested
please email me.

2. We will be starting indoor practices at Vetta Hampshire this Sunday
from 7-9PM. We will be getting 4 courts so we will be taking a
maximum of 16 people per practice. If you are interested in going to
the Indoor practices Please fill out a record in the Indoor Practices
yahoo group database
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/wuclubtennis/database with your
name, number, and how many people you can take if you have a car, so
we can organize travel arrangements. Since space is limited we will
most likely reserve the space for people currently on the competitive
team (based on the ladders) and people who want to try out for the
competitive team. Once it gets warm enough (probably around early
March) we will start practices 2-3 days a week on the varsity courts.

3. The upcoming Spring Season is going to be our biggest yet. Here is
our tentative schedule, try to keep these dates open if you are
interested in playing:

- January 28/29 Tri team tennis match with University of Nebraska and
University of Missouri Rolla (This match is coming up very quickly and
you should think about whether or not you would like to come, very
soon you will get another email with more details asking to confirm if
you are interested in going)

- Weekend of Feb 18,19 Club Team Tennis Sectional Tournament in Des
Moines, Iowa

-TBD Match with Wash U Women's Varsity Team (Sometime in February)

-Friday March 3rd Men and Women's Match against Fontebonne University

-TBD Match with SLU Club Team (Matt Seiler will schedule this match)

- Weekend of April 20-22rd Club Team Tennis National Tournament in
Austin, Texas
