-- The lawyer who was appointed to defend Dr. Phil Astin asked to be
removed from the case because Astin can no longer pay his legal bills.
As of this evening U.S. Magistrate Judge Russell Vineyard appointed
Natasha Perdew Silas of the federal defender's office to represent
Phil Astin.

-- The Condemned debuted in the U.S. DVD Rental chart at #2 bringing
in over $4 million. The movie has so far grossed over $8 million in
theatres worldwide.
-- The Peoria Journal Star has a story on their website about MVP. He
talks about the Chris Benoit killings, drugs in wrestling, being
compared to The Rock, and other topics.

TNA News & Notes

TNA will be releasing a DVD on November 20th titled 'The History of
TNA: Year 1'. The DVD will look at how the promotion started with
their first events in Huntsville and Nashville. Never before seen
footage, interviews with those involved at the time in creating and
running TNA and matches from the first year of TNA will all be on this
disc.

Apparently at a recent TNA booking meeting somebody came up with the
idea of bringing in Mike Awesome, seems as though someone in that
meeting was not aware that he had died.

-- Konnan will be returning to wrestling at the Antonio Pena Memorial
show at El Toreo for AAA on October, 7th.

-- The New York Wrestling Connection are putting on a show called
'Evening for Evelynn' in aid of Evelynn Marie Biondo, a baby who was
left with Shaken Baby Syndrom after her father violently abused her.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at William
Floyd High School, 240 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach, NY. Starting
at 7:00 PM, tickets are only $10 each and will be worth every cent as
the stars of the NYWC give their all with baby Evelynn on their minds.
