Just wanted to send out a reminder that the Mustangs Last Chance Tournament is
Tomorrow, Saturday 6/27/09. This is the last tournament in the AAU series that
we hade put together. We will be giving out the series awards when the
tournament is complete. The minimum criteria for the series awards is as
follows: 5 Pins, 8 wins or 3 1st place finishes. Any one of these three
achievements in the series and you will recieve one of the special awards that
we have put together. They are all custom awards and not like anything you have
seen at another tournament before. Please try to come out and wrestle. I will be
up at the head table all day. Come by and say hi if you like. Looking forward to
seeing you. This is one of the last chances you will have to wrestle now that
summer is here. Competition should be good. Tell your friends. let's try to have
a good turnout.

It was brought to my attention that this flyer was hard to open. I reduced the
size of the image and it should be easier for you to open. Also please note that
the series flyer stated that this tournament was $15 entry fee. That was wrong,
all tournaments in this series are $20. Please make a note of that. The series
flyer has been corrected so all tournaments read as a $20 entry fee. I believe
the series flyer may have been posted on Force Wrestling and on Illinois Matmen,
if that is so who ever posted it if you could please send the corrected flyer it
would be most appreciated.
Thank You
Paul Manno
To all group members please note that the flyer for the AAU Folkstyle Challenge
stated that the Charger Open was at Prospect High School. That was an error.
That tournament is at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville. The Flyer
posted for the Charge Open was correct. I have changed the AAU flyer and it is
now correct. Sorry for any confusion. John Schnecker Brought it to me attention
and I have fixed the problem. Also other tournaments are being added on a
regular basis as they are becoming available. You may check the files section of
the club. The coach from Canton has added his tournament and there will be a few
more added in the next day or so.
Paul Manno
To all group members. The off-season is upon us and with the help of 5 high
school coaches we have put together the AAU Illinois Folkstyle Challenge again
this year. There will be 5 tournaments in the series. The tournaments will all
be run the same. The details of each tournament is in the files section of this
group. The first tournament is on April 5th at Dundee Crown High School. The
respective coaches will run each of the tournaments. I will be at the first
torunament for a little while before wrestling starts to explain everything. I
will be at the last tournament at the head table to hand out the series awards.
It is a great opportunity to wind some nice awards and to get in some matches in
the off-season. The tournaments are sanctioned AAU and you must have a card to
compete. Cards must be purchased on line and are not for sale at the door. You
may purchase the card at www.aausports.com. Also if you or your coach is running
a tournament this off-season or you know of a tournament you are encouraged to
post that tournament in the files section of this group. If you get this email
and do not want any more emails you may delete yourself from the group at any
time and all emails will cease.
Sincerely,
Paul Manno

I have flyers for three of the AAU meets (Bulldog, Prairieville, and
Mustang). Does anyone know if the other two meets will be going on
this summer? My club wrestlers really enjoyed these meets and the
"big" medals!
Please read this , I typed it and it is serious...
Hello all!
I know there may be some people I am sending this to that I haven't spoken to in a long time, but I still feel that I should get this word out to all, present, or past Friends....I would never wish what happened to me to will happen to anyone.
I almost got in what would have been a fatal accident this morning...within seconds of being hit by a Metra Train.
Yes, I know I have exaggerated situations before, but this really has me shaken up. I have already been on the phone with Metra regarding the situation
This morning I was heading south on 83 turning right (west) 120 in Grayslake. The turn lane is snow packed and I had to be cautious as it is a short lane. I was ready to proceed over the tracks and looked to my left because it was clear, but I noticed the red and white (no turn) arrow over the intersection was lit. As I looked to my right, the train gate was coming down on my hood. I threw the van in reverse and went back as fast as I was able (spinning tires the whole time) didn't even look behind to see if it was clear. By the time I looked back up the train was in front of my van moving full speed. The reason I am so alarmed is because there was NO HORN AT ALL, not even a sound from the signal. I did not have the heat or radio on, in fact the window was cracked open an inch, so would have heard any sounds. I know there are sections of Grayslake and Mundelein that are "no horn zones" for the trains, but I believe the external speakers are being affected by the snow. It was also upsetting that the train was in front of me as quickly as when the gates came down, so now I wonder switch that makes the gates go down in plenty of time before the train has approached, has also been effected by the snow. I am assuming that this did happen as fast as I think it did, as no vehicles around me even honked.
Please forward this to people in the area. If I had paid just a second less of attention, I would not be typing to all of you right now.
To those of you who know me well, I even called called Howard and got chocked up while talking to him....this is not my usual ....it must have been bad.
I am waiting for a call back from the Superintendent of Meta now.
If anyone sees my Guardian Angel, please tell him I said "Thanks", I really think he was there.

Sorry for the delay in posting the results for the first 3
tournaments. I will post them within two weeks after this Saturday's
tournament. It is difficult enough to prepare and run one of these
tournaments but it is even harder to do 3 in a row. It takes a lot of
my time to make sure the awards are done and everything is in order.
After the Illinois Open which is at Antioch High School Saturday June
2nd I will start to get these results posted. Thank you so much for
you patience. The Illinois Open is open to all wrestlers inside and
outside of Illinois. We like to have wrestlers come from out of state
to compete. It makes for better competition. See you on Saturday.

I posted the registration form for the Grayslake BAGUBA Tournament in
the files. Note the Age and record dates/years are incorrect, looks
like they didn't update the form from previous years. Have a great day!

It has been brought to my attention that the flyer for The Knights
Open has two different entry fees listed. I have gone and changed the
flyers that are listed in the group. To clarify the problem I am
sending this email. The entry fee for the tournament is $15 a
wrestler. You need an AAU card to compete. It is $12 for youth (up to
18) and $22 for adults (19 and over). A lot of people will already
have the cards. You only need to purchase it once. If you bought it
for the Bulldogs Coliseum that same card is good for this tournament
and the next 3 after it. If you do not have a card you may purchase it
at the tournament. The Knights Open is the second in our AAU series.
It is Sunday, May 20th. All registration is at the door. Weigh Ins are
from 6:30-8 AM. You may call me with questions.

The files are written in Microsoft Works Word Processor. However
almost all of the same information is also posted in the files section
under the individual tournaments on 4/29, 5/20, 5/26, 6/2, & 6/30.
There is also a series flyer in the files section. These flyers are
not in a folder.
