WORLD INTERCLUB LEAGUE Season II tees off.
This weekend, players from around the world will tee off in the
opening round of matches in the World Interclub League, a unique 5
month long global epic of Pitch and Putt. This years competition
sees an explosion of new entries from Australia, and new entries
from Denmark, Vancouver in Canada, as well as two more clubs from
the Netherlands.
The highlight of the first round of matches will see some of the
best players in the world in action as Canberra International (
current world record holders in this format) take on the powerful
Sant Cebria from Catalonia, Spain. It is envisaged that it will take
a world record score to win that match.
This unique sporting competition which sees 21 teams from 8
countries and 4 continents fighting it out for the honour of
becoming the world club champions has captured the imagination of
the Pitch and Putt world and will be eagerly followed by many of
the sports players around the planet. It is also rapidly becoming a
valuable tool in Pitch and Putt's development as it reaches out to
players everywhere around the world and gives them a chance to
become involved in the sport at the elite level.
With over 230 players already registered to play in this years
competition, the World Interclub League is forging its own place in
the worlds sporting calendar.
