This caught my attention in the agate type of USA TODAY's state news section,
but with the success of Bridgeport's arena this probably shouldn't surprise
people. With the UHL's New Haven Knights now history after two seasons the city
has decided to close down and demolish the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum this
September, with the loss of about 70 jobs, in order to write the 30 year old,
money losing facility off the books. Considering the hockey history that has
transpired there, mostly in the AHL, it's more than a little tragic.
