On the topic of conditioning, swimming is an excellent way to get into shape, in fact it is all I did this summer. Not only is it a great way to tone all the muscles of your body and push yourself cardiovascularly, it is also very low impact so you are not risking nearly as many injuries or strains. If you feel you are not reaping any benefit from your aquatic routines try to spice it up, change your training focus on a regular basis. This will both keep your regime interesting, lessening risk of burnout, and help in specialized training. If you are a swimmer you are probably already aware of all this, but sometimes it is worth restating. If you need any ideas as to how to work on certain in-water focuses, I am willing to offer a few ideas.
