Here in Oregon we are also trying to get a women's division in our state
organization. We have had to propose a bylaw change and have it read at
three different meetings and then after that it can be voted on. We have
done this and now our meeting is August 18th and hopefully we will vote to
create a women's division here in Oregon. I will let you know how it goes
but I think taking a team to the USGWA Natioanls for the last 4 years and
reporting on it at the state meeting has helped. I have also asked the
Oregon State Director to add a link on the official state website which
also has helped. All of the above have helped. Lets hope that it has been
enough to get the women's division added Keep your fingers crossed for
Oregon on August 18....

Need your Help>

We are trying to get girls wrestling division in the
youth organization in the fall for folkstyle. The
board meets in October.

I posted a message on their message board to start to
get support. Have rec"d the same old responces girls
shouldn't wrestle, i have rocks in my
head,etc...aswell as positive post. Please help

more support, the better the chance in October..
