There is no crises.... The best way to show him you are serious is by working hard and ignoring his comments. He will only try to get you to quit. Stick with it and work hard.
Best place to learn something before wrestling practice starts would be local area wrestling clubs. I don't know where you are but in the Portland Oregon area we have 3 or 4 all year round clubs and tons of local area clubs that are starting practices this week and next. Contact your local State Wrestling Director. You can find his name on themat.com or usawrestling.org.
The next best place to learn some things is your boyfriend that has been wrestling for three years.
Good luck and stick with it....

Okay, I have ALWAYS loved rough sports. I played hockey, i rock
climb, football....now here's the crisis...
I have had a boyfriend that has wrestled since he was in 2nd grade.
I am now 15 and in 10th grade, and he knows how bad I want to
wrestle. I talked to my dad, he is supproting me all the way on it,
for the first time, my father is backing me in something. He is
proud. Some of the guys on the team that are my friend say they know
I can do it and i should go for it. The season starts soon, and the
coaches know I am wrestling. But the one coach does not like me. He
thinks the me and Norman's almost 3 and a half year relationship is
nothing but interefereing with HIS wrestling. But I am the one (i
managed wrestling the last 2 years) who kept him going back when he
wanted to quit. I took the coach to the side today, and told him I
want to wrestle. He said he can't stop me, but he was laughing and
playing it like a joke. It hurt. I know he thinks I'm not serious
but I have been down in the wrestling room for weeks trying to learn
what I can, and getting in shape for the conditioning, and now he's
acting like I am a joke. How can I approach him and tell him I am
serious? I was really looking to him to help me learn before the
season starts!
