This is a real puzzler! In 1970 I owned a Ruger
autoloading pistol in .22 long rifle and never had this
problem. First, I would buy two more magazines for the
pistol and see if this "cures" the problem. It is a well
known fact that the preponderance of jamming problems
are caused by malformed, or bent feed lips on the
pistol's magazine. If the problem persists, return the
Ruger to the factory (if it is still under warranty)
and determine whether or not he manufacturer can
effect the repairs. If the warrany has expired, take the
offending firearm to a qualified gunsmith, explain the
difficulty you are experiencing, and ask him/her to rectify
the problem. Bear in mind that .22 ammunition has a
tendency to leave bullet lubricant deposits and propellent
(gunpowder) residue on feeding ramps and in magazines. These
can sometimes cause "hangups" in and of theselves
While this is not common it can happen. I hope that you
can cure the problem.<br> It is great to see women
