We've been lucky down here of late as more women
than men are taking up the pistol shooting. Our local
TAFE (University)runs courses after hours in all sorts
of activities ans one course offered is pistol
shooting. There are 30 places on each course and generally
20 of those go to women.<br>Like you l found women
much better at shooting than men although not many of
them stick at it long term. I think there are a number
of reasons why women are better shooters are (1) as
you said , they have better motor skills (2) they
have better eyesight and (3) The most contraversial;
Men tend to front up for training wth the attitude
"Hey,I'm a bloke,Of course l can shoot,l don't need you to
tell me what to do." Whereas the women came
along,generally very frightened of the gun and willing to do
whatever you asked. Give me a women to train any day. As
another aside l nearly always felt more confident working
with a women when the s--t hit the fan than with a
bloke as in my experience they used brains first brawn
second. In addition (And l appologise now for this really
sexist comment but like it or not it's true) l found
that when confronted by a thug if a bloke went in the
thug wanted to fight to prove he was the best yet if a
women went in and happened to be a stunner (10/10 type)
the thug usually stopped carrying on because all he
wanted to do was bed the girl. So as l said give me a
women to train any day over a bloke. (Especially if she
