greatly appreciated!<br><br>I attended the Northbrook,
Illinois village board meeting last night. There was a
motion before the board to put a referendum on the
ballot to ban handguns in Northbrook. Thankfully it was
shot down, 5-2. However, a female trustee now wants to
look further into other options instead of banning, so
the they are looking into this, and will bring the
issue up again in November. <br><br>You'll be happy to
know that out of around 30 people who spoke last
night, only 1 was for the gun ban. That was a teenage
girl who was freaked out about Columbine (rightly so)
but felt that all guns should be banned. <br><br>This
was the second meeting on the subject - and at the
first meeting, again 30+ people spoke against the ban
and only 3 were for it. Thank goodness the trustees
(most of them) had the common sense to not allow the
referendum to happen. <br><br>Check
