Actually, that was me. My only connection to football is having
played it in high school. I know Sarge could make a much more
informed decision than me. I only am here in northern California and
every once in a while check the websites for scores and things like
that. I wish I could do more, but I have other things to occupy me,
such as classes in college and such things. I can't even keep
complete track of the Sirens, and they are the team I try to get to
know. Therefore, my predictions can be taken as pure whim and some
of them could be expected, which aren't very knowledgable.
I have rambled and probably should stop now. I hope I haven't bored
anyone.

I think that the facts need to come out. Especially since this is
about the time when unsuspecting woman will be enslaved into the
depths of hell. so let it out. I think that it is good to air out
dirty laundy. especially when you don't have a washer machine and
your laundry could use the fresh air. Let the unkwoledgeable hear
about the drama!!!!

victorious,
have moved over to play for the FL Stingrays Team...(WPFL) in the Fall.
We were told we could not play for both teams...so, we had to choose and
myself along with a number of very good players chose the Stingrays.

The Miami Fury will be playing with a different QB, RB, D-Line, Linebackers,
lost some O-Line, and Corner.
It is going to be very interesting to see how they do...
We wish them all the best, but 8-0...no way!

Here's how I think it will end up in the IWFL:
Pacific Northwest

4. Eugene Edge (2-6)
5. Boise Xtreme (1-9)

Pacific Southwest
1. Sacramento Sirens (9-0)
2. California Quake (6-3)
3. Oakland Banshees (5-5)
4. San Francisco (3-3)
5. Santa Rosa (1-8)
6. San Diego (0-4)

3. Oklahoma City Avengers (3-6)
4. Chicago Force (2-6)

Atlantic Northeast
1. Bay State Warriors (7-2)

4. Rhode Island Riptide (0-9)

Atlantic Mideast
1. New York Sharks (7-1)
2. Philadelphia Liberty Belles (6-2)
3. Albany Night-Mares (3-6)
4. Detroit Blaze (0-6)

Atlantic Southeast
1. Miami Fury (8-0)
2. Orlando Starz (6-3)

4. Atlanta Xplosion (0-6)

Playoffs:

Here we go:
Memphis over Chicago-I think experience will prevail in this matchup
Dallas over Oklahoma City-The Revolution proved against the Maulers
that they are one of the teams to beat in the Southwest
Portland over Eugene-The Shockwave have a great team this year
Sacramento over Oakland-The Sirens are on a roll and the Banshees are
still regrouping from the loss to the Quake
Tacoma over Boise-The Majestics remain a powerful team this year and
are the team to beat in the Pacific Northwest

Brooke Nichols ran for 3 touchdowns, Lindsay Krill added another, and
the game ball goes to Rachel Gore who galloped for 2 touchdowns on
offense and came away with 2 interceptions. Tacoma's defense played
great in the shutout effort. Excellent job ladies!!!

I have results for three games so far:

Maulers 16, Avengers 0
Stingrayz 43, Scorchers 13
California 31, Oakland 14

The Oakland @ California game was a really fine game! Oakland took an
early 6-0 lead; California answered in the second quarter with a
safety, a TD reception by Junko Tanida and a two-point conversion to
make it 10-6 at halftime. Another California touchdown, on a long run
by Amy Croger (PAT kick blocked) increased the lead to 16-6, but
Oakland completed a long drive with a TD and 2-pt conversion to pull
within 16-14. California finished off the game with another rushing
TD, another long run by Colleen Rhemm - who looks like she was
practicing her TD dance a little bit, LOL - and a successful 2-pt
conversion, and a 1-yd QB sneak by Lorena Sepulveda (PAT kick good -
Kara Williams.) Sorry I do not know who scored for Oakland. If you
know, email me or post here so I can give them proper credit on the
Quake website.

      1 2 3 4 F
Oak 6 0 8 0 14
Cal 0 10 6 15 31

Thank you to Oakland for a great game - it was a good, hard-fought
battle. There were a few injuries on each side but everyone was able
to walk off - I hope your injured players are doing fine. Have a safe
trip home and we are already looking forward to the rematch at the
Banshee's house on 4/26. Should be another good one!

My cousin is coming to the US for Grad-school. In Denmark she plays
handball at a high level but that is not a big sport in the US and so
she might try something else. I heard about you guys and wondered if
she should take up football. For two reasons.
One, handball is a very violent, physical sport, which she likes a
lot. Football might be similar maybe a bit more violent but if you've
seen Danish girls play handball you will know that it's tough. Lots
of bangs and bruises and occasionally worse, and when my cousin plays
she is usually responsible for a lot of these.
The second reason is that she has great size. Everytime I see her,
which is only every 2 years or so, I am amazed. This week we were
talking about this and about football in the US and I asked her. She
is 1m92 (about 6'4) and 204 kg (about 450 lbs), and she's not ashamed
of it. But don't get me wrong, she is in shape - not exactly slim,
but this weight is mostly in her strong thighs and shoulders. She's
not lightning fast but not slow either and she's used to playing 60
minute handball games. So I believe that she could do very well at
football, even though she has never played before.
She's going to be in the Boston area.

What do you guys think? Is there a team she should try out for in
that area?

If you're a quarterback you probably want her on your team or else in
a different league!! Believe me you do not want to be tackled by this
girl. I'm 6'3, 240 and when she asked if she could do a "practice"
tackle on me, I refused. I've seen too many handball players
stretchered off the court after they got in her way.

Any thoughts on this, specifically on teams in the Boston area that
she might make. She will be here for just 18 months so she would not
want to spend a year on a reserve squad, she wants to play.

Hi toplayfootball,
well I have to agree with the individual who said that the WPFL is
not to blame and is a good league. I came from the WAFL and instead
of playing for the WFA, I with some others decided to go to the WPFL.
Long story short it was the best thing we ever did. Most of the teams
we met were very nice, professional, pretty good to us. I think you
know where I'm going here, but I won't. I like our league and so does
our management and have been nothing but happy with it. Every
business does have it's quirks you know but it has been good to us
and we like it. You can look at all of the posts if you'd like to
scout the NES but you've heard some valid things here. It is true
that you need to pick the league and the team you best fit with. That
is the most important and this should be the reason you use to pick
your team. I don't know what the person earlier who said that was not
the right way to decide was thinking but OK for them. I personally
want to be happy on the team I choose and in the league they play in.
I have experienced the other and that one year was enough for me
(that is why I reside in the padded room with others right here on
this board-LOL!!!). It can be a loooooong and very frustrating season
if you are not happy and that should be the first thing-being happy
in the place you choose. Go for it girl! Have a good one!

As stated earlier, there are alot of great teams in the Boston/NE
area. If I were you, I would stick to playing in the Spring. Listen
to what everyone else has said on the this board. There is too much
drama in the Fall league. Though I don't play, I have been around
the football scene since it started. Anyway, here is the scoop on
the other spring teams.

Mass Mutiny - The majority of this team played for the NES in the
first year but chose to leave due to disagreements with the
management. They are part of the NWFA. They have a new owner this
year. The owner was a coach last year. Mostly new coaching staff
this year. The team has lost some old players to other New England
teams, but still remains strong. Has been in exsistence for many
years and carries with them lots of experience. Good team to play
with and they still have openings. www.massmutiny.com

Bay State Warriors - The majority of this team played for the NES in
it's second year but left due to disagreements with the management.
This team has a great owner and a good reputation. They have been in
exsistence for a couple years. Good coaching staff. Part of the
IWFL. Also a good team to play for and I believe they still have
openings. www.baystatewarriors.com

RI Riptide - New team this year. Part of the IWFL. Owner used to
play for the NES and Mutiny but decided to start her own team. Much
of the coaching staff used to coach for the Mutiny and/or play for
the Mutiny. Has some experienced players from other teams in the
area. Also a good team to play for. I believe they still have
openings. www.ririptide.com (i think)

CT Crush - Part of the NWFA. A good solid team. don't know much
about management. They have been around for a while and bring with
them some good experienced players.

New Hampshire - Don't know much about them

Maine - Don't know much about them

Hope that helps!!
