Reply | Forward Message #104 of 244 |

Dear All,

Sub: Request For Sports Equipment:

I am writing on behalf of Africa Youth Ministries Uganda to request for your
technical support in developing Girls soccer in Uganda under our "Tackling AIDS
Through Sport Program" Similarly, Africa Youth Ministries Uganda is requesting
for used sports equipment donations towards girls soccer, e.g. balls, cleats,
shean guards, uniforms, socks, running canvas etc & netball for this program and
as well funds for the program coordination. Africa Youth Ministries is commited
to promoting the involvement of Girls and women in sport to ensure that girls
and women are taking a lead in community development as active citizens.
Regardless of gender, sport and play teaches important values and life skills
including respect, commitment, leadership, cooperation and making healthy
lifestyle choices. Through sport Girls are made more aware of the AIDS epidemic
and how to avoid getting infected. We have apparently a very vibrant program
called "Tackling AIDS Through Sport" running in 6
Districts here in Uganda

Besides, HIV Prevention, this program also intends to bring trauma healing
among children orphaned by AIDS & affected by the 20 years northern Uganda
conflict through play therapy. This program on a greater extent targets to
benefit young girls orphaned by AIDS, due to their vulnerability. However, the
major beneficiaries have been boys and to a smaller extent girls through our
netball activities. For further details visit our website at www.aymu.org/kick
or www.aymu.org/wad.html

Yours,

Albert Kunihira
