I can understand the visibility comment.   brown dirt ... brown boat.  
 
I have the same problem with guys I Isablla ice boat with.   They have clear mylar film sails and one has a low profile black boat.   REALLY hard to see!

John, Not of concern to this project but I can see no way that it costs $30K to build any iceboat unless you are paying for the labor and purchasing all...

It may be iceboater bs but I've talked to more than a few skeeter guys that say it costs $30,000.00 in materials to build a front cockpit type Clapp skeeter....

John, the ST49 looks really nice, like all your wingboats. I agree that the bright color will help in visability, especially when there is dust on the playa....
